RIGHTS OF OWNER

The rights granted to an owner in respect of a literary, musical or artistic work, a film, a sound recording, or a derivative work are exclusive rights to do the following in Malaysia:- 

• the reproduction in any material form
• the communication to the public
• the performance, showing or playing to the public
• the distribution of copies to the public by sale or other transfer of ownership (limited to rights of first distribution)
• the commercial rental to the public (excepting commercial rental of computer programs where the program is not the essential object of the rental)

of the whole work or a substantial part thereof (hereinafter, "the restricted acts").
